In My Mailbox #9 & Sunday Confessions #2
In My Mailbox is a meme hosted every week by The Story Siren. To find out how to participate and the "official" details, check out the IMM page.
Anyone can participate in IMM and you are not limited to sharing books that arrive via your mailbox. You can also share books that you've bought or books that you've gotten at the library.
-----------------------------------------------------
Yeah.. Didn't get a lot this week, unfortunately. What all did you get?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This meme was started by Marcie @ To Read or Not To Read. She started it as a way to share a little about herself, but to learn about the rest of us as well. She says, "Sometimes its about books and book related topics and sometimes it's not. This is all in good fun and I would love it if you would participate."
This week's question is
"How do you arrange your bookshelves?"
I love it when I am asked this question, because unless you study my shelves, you'd never know :). But to answer the question, I have all of my books that are in series first; they are in ABC order by series name. Next come the Stand Alones. They are in ABC order by the book title. I've got so many series that the ones taking up a lot of room had to be moved to make room for others. LOL. It's a hassle to rearrange everything after a trip to the bookstore..
So how do you arrange your bookshelves?
Leave a link to your IMM &/or SC and I will be sure to stop by! :)
Wow! I should have you come over and help me with my shelves. LOL. I'm definitely going to keep this post in mind when I finally rearrange mine. Thanks for participating in Sunday Confession. I hope you have a great week!
Hooray for Jane Eyre!!!
xo,
Lah @ LazyGirl Reads
No problem, Marcie! I find it super-fun actually :).
Lazy Girl: IKR?
I want to say you'll love Jane Eyre but people seem to be split over the book so I'll just say you made a good choice at least. Thanks for the follow, I followed you back ;)
hahahahah, that is a complicated system! Mine's not nearly so well done. Of course when i get a new pile of books I stack them in front of the well organised books and then add them as their read. UNTIL, my husband gets annoyed by how "untidy" it looks (ie- overflowing) and rearranges them higglety pigglety. Sigh. So really theres no point in doing much other then trying to keep series together and roughly grouped by genre.
I love Jane Eyre - hope you enjoy it :)
Awesome, thanks! And thanks also for the book "advice", so to speak. I am thinking I will love it :)
Rhiannon: LOL! Well, everyone has their way of dealing with things, right? I'm sort of a neat freak. Hah :) Thanks for commenting!
Erica: I think I will. Thanks for commenting as well!
Great mailbox! Aren't the digital readers great!
Oh, Jane Eyre... something I should have read as English major but never got around to, haha.
Interesting way to organize your bookshelf! My book shelf is haphazard right now with no sort of organization whatsoever, and a ton are in storage boxes waiting to go in my future classroom as well as when I move out and have room at my own place :)
Jane Eyre is my absolute favorite book! I love it. Haha--I love finding people to talk about bookshelf organization. It's not something that comes up in everyday conversation. I put my series first too, by author and then the stand alones by author.
That's certainly an interesting way to organize your books. Mine's a lot simpler than that...less rearranging. I just group them by author...pretty randomly. ARCs are together grouped by whether I swap/won them or if the publisher sent them.
Jane Eyre is such a great book :o)
Your bookshelf sounds so organized compared to mine! I actually just arrange my books by size and make sure that the books that are in series are in numerical order. Thanks for the follow! I'm following you as well!
Everybody has a slow week once in a while...that's okay! Thx for stopping by!
Jen
I hope you enjoy Jane Eyre (I haven't read this classic!)
What a creative way to organize your books - mine just get put wherever they can fit! Nothing to it at all.
Thanks for stopping by my IMM post!
Thank you SO much to everyone who commented, followed (if you did), and all of you are welcome for me stopping by your blogs. HAve a great weekend, everybody!
You are as organized as my blogging partner. You both put me to shame.
Reading Lark's Sunday Confessions
It's always fun to read about how people organize their bookshelves!
Enjoy Jane Eyre - it's one I still need to read. How did I get through 4 years as an English major without reading it? :)
Andrea: Nahh, we just have a way of doing things. Everyone has a diff technique. Whatever works out for you is just what works :).
Super: LOL! Yeah, you def have me baffled there. I want to major in English. Working on that part :). (Only in 8th grade)
Thanks for commenting, girls!
Love how you've organized your bookshelves! I have mine alphabetical by author's last name, but separated by ARC, fiction,and paperback vs. hardcover.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! I love reading what you have to say, whether good or bad. (This is not an open invitation to be rude.)
This blog is an award-free zone. I simply don't have the time to pass them on. Thanks for thinking of me, though :).
