In My Mailbox is a meme hosted every week by The Story Siren. To find out how to participate and the "official" details, check out the IMM page.
Anyone can participate in IMM and you are not limited to sharing books that arrive via your mailbox. You can also share books that you've bought or books that you've gotten at the library.

My friend actually got Dead Until Dark from the library, but she is letting me borrow it :).

This meme was started by Marcie @ To Read or Not To Read. She started it as a way to share a little about herself, but to learn about the rest of us as well. She says, "Sometimes its about books and book related topics and sometimes it's not. This is all in good fun and I would love it if you would participate."
This week's question is
"What do you do if a book doesn't grab your attention?"
I don't have a lot of books that don't grab my attention, but I recently had one; the thing that really makes me feel bad is that it's a book I am supposed to review for an author. Why must I feel bad, you ask? Because I couldn't finish it. When I have books like that, I try to push myself to read them because I know that they are probably much better when you're farther into them, but I just couldn't do it. If I can't make it through the book/s, I put them aside and tell myself that I will come back to them later. I think I have two books on hold right now. :/
What do you do if a book doesn't grab your attention?
Leave a link to your IMM &/or SC and I will be sure to come by! :)

I haven't read any of Charlaine Harris books, but I do watch True Blood. haha One Night That Changes Everything looks interesting. When I have a book I can't get into, I give myself to a certain place mid way through and if it hasn't changed for me, I move on. I have too many to review to waste time on a book I know I won't review well. I tell the author and the reasons why if they asked me to review personally. If I know someone else that reads the genre, I may ask them to give it a shot for me. It's not a good feeling though to not even be able to finish it. :( When I do a review of a book I really didn't care for, I don't do a narrative form review, but bullet points instead of pros/cons.

I loved Untamed & Dead Until Dark! Great mailbox!
I've really been wanting to read those Sookie Stackhouse books. I need to get on that... too many books, too little time! Enjoy your books!
The Sookie Stackhouse series is amazing!! Enjoy them!
Happy Reading!

Tale of Many Reviews: I don't watch the TV show, but I have been wanting to read the books for a while, so I'm glad I'm getting the chance to. I might try your idea of bullets :)
Kelsey: I am sure that I will love them, too!
Annette: "Too many books, too little time!" I think that's the most agreeable quote out there! :D
Kristina: Thanks for following!
I hope you like Charlaine Harris. I think her books are great! I feel guilty when I don't finish book that I'm reading. I often put it aside and come back to it later. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't. Thanks for your Sunday Confession :D
UNTAMED is pretty good, I hope you enjoy it.
I haven't started the Sookie Stackhouse books yet, but I plan on doing so because I LOVE True Blood. :D
I haven't read ONE NIGHT THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING, but I have read TWO-WAY STREET by Lauren. And it was AMAZING. So I plan on reading more books by her as soon as I can.
Great IMM!
If I can't get into a book, I try and at least read 100 pages of it, and if I still just can't get into it by then, then I set it aside and try and come back to it later. When I do decide to try and pick it up again, I try and see if I remember anything about what I read of it. And if I can't, then I usually just don't tend to finish it.
Great books! I've read the first three Charlaine Harris books, but haven't had time to read the rest. Enjoy!!
Marcie: No problem! :D
Vintage bookworm: I've heard that Two-Way Street was pretty good, too. Might have to adopt your way of handling "bad" books.
Christy: Hopefully you can sometime! :D
Untamed looks good! I'll have to check that out.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! I love reading what you have to say, whether good or bad. (This is not an open invitation to be rude.)
This blog is an award-free zone. I simply don't have the time to pass them on. Thanks for thinking of me, though :).
